Levitra is an oral medicine purposed to treat erectile dysfunction.
How Taken
Levitra is produced in tablets for oral use. It has to be taken 1 hour before sexual activity. There is needed some sexual stimulation for an erection to occur with Levitra. The usual dose is once a day. It can be taken with or without food.
Warnings/Precautions
Before start taking Levitra, inform your physician if you have ever had a heart attack, angina (chest pain),irregular heartbeats, stroke,high or low blood pressure or congestive heart failure; kidney problems or liver problems; have a stomach ulcer;if you have a personal or family history of a rare heart condition known as prolongation of the QT interval (long QT syndrome); if you have a physical deformity of the penis such as Peyronie's disease; have ever had blood problems, including multiple myeloma, leukemia or sickle cell anemia; have a bleeding or blood clotting disorder; a family history of degenerative eye disease (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa). In those cases you there is a possibility that Levitra is not suitable for you or you may need a special dose adjustment or special medical monitoring during treatment. Although women do not use Levitra, it is in the FDA pregnancy category B. Itis not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Women should not use Levitra. It is not known whether Levitra passes into breast milk. If you are over 65 years of age, you may be more likely to experience side effects from Levitra. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of the medication.
Missed Dose
Levitra is used as needed, so there is not any chance to miss a dose.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects regarding the use of Levitra are:
-Headaches
-Flushing
-Stuffy or runny nose
Levitra maylead to an erection that will not go away (priapism). If your erection lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help. Priapism must be treated as soon as possible or there can appear serious damages to your penis including the inability to have erections. Vision changes, such as seeing a blue tinge to objects or having difficulty differentiating the colors blue and green. These are not all possible the side effects. Storage
Keep at 25°C (77°F); do not expose to temperatures below or over 15-30°C (59-86°F). Keep Levitra and all medicines away from children.
Overdose
In case you suspect and overdose, seek instant medical help. Symptoms of a Levitra overdose are not known, but are likely to include back pain, swelling of the ankles or legs chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, dizziness, and abnormal vision.
More Information
Do not use Levitra if:
- you are taking any form of medication known as "nitrates" (Type of medicine used to relieve chest pain that can occur as a result of heart disease). The combination of Levitra with nitrates may lead to serious side effects.
- you are using medicines called "alpha-blockers" (prescribed to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure). The use of Levitra with alpha-blockers may decrease your blood pressure to an unsafe level.
- Your doctor determines that sexual activity is risky for you.
You should not start treatment with Levitra if you are sensitive or have allergy to any of the Levitra substances. The use of Levitra do not protects from sexually transmitted diseases. Consult you doctor about protective measures necessary for protection against sexually transmitted diseases, including the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
