Drug Uses
Elimite is a drug that is purposed to treat scabies.
How Taken
The skin should be massaged from head to the soles of the feet. For each dose, use 30 grams of the drug. Leave it on your skin for 8 to 14 hours and then wash it off. Be careful not to apply on any wounds or open cuts that you may have. This can result in too much medicine absorption by the body. In case of breast-feeding, consult your doctor before starting any treatment with Elimite. It may passes into breast-milk.
Warnings/Precautions
Be careful to avoid any contact of the medicine with the eyes, nose, or mouth. If you have such case, wash it thoroughly with water. Sexual contact should be also avoided until the infection is cured.
Missed Dose
As Elimite is applied only once, it is not likely to be missed a dose.
Possible Side Effects
Inform your physician if you experience any of the following conditions: swelling, itching, burning or stinging, tingling, numbness, redness or rash.
Storage
Keep at average room temperature between 15° to 25°C (59° to 77°F). Make sure it is out of reach of children.
Overdose
If you doubt that you have applied too much of this drug, contact your physician. Overdose can result in erythema and increased irritation.
More Information
In order to avoid future reinfection, you should wash all your clothes, bed linens, hats, hair brushes, or combs that might have been previously infected.
