Drug Uses
Aphthasol is produced as a paste and it is purposed to fight aphthous ulcers (canker sores).
How Taken
You should apply Aphthasol to the canker sore the moment it appears. After usage, carefully wash your hands. The treatment should continue till the sore is fully healed. If the problem doesn’t disappear in 10 days, consult your doctor. Keep the paste away from your eyes. If by any chance it gets to your eyes, wash them immediately.
Warnings/Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have ever experienced and allergic reaction to amlexanox. It is also essential to tell about any allergies that you might have had to substances such as preservatives or dyes. Amlexanox has not been tested on humans. The animal tests show that it is not any danger of birth defects or other problems.
Missed Dose
If you skip a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is too close to the next dose, forget about the missed dose and follow your usual dose schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Your body needs time to adjust to the new medicine and during that period you may experience some side effects. Consult your doctor if you have any unusual symptoms. Possible side effects are: burning, stinging, pain in the damaged area, where the paste is applied; inflammation of mucous membranes; diarrhea; nausea.
Storage
You should store Aphthasol away from children. Keep it away from direct light and warm places. You should also not keep it in the bathroom or any other moist places. Do not use if outdated.
Overdose
Contact your doctor immediately in case of an overdose.
